KENGO KUMA

‘I wanted to create a huge roof’, says Kengo Kuma of the new Nezu Museum, designed to house the collection of wealthy Japanese industrialist Kaichiro Nezu on a lusciously pastoral site in the Aoyama district of Tokyo. The big, minimally articulated roof is a Kuma signature. His Hiroshige Ando Museum (AR October 2001) was just a huge shed clad in cedar slats, but it had a powerful lyricism. Kuma’s roofs are abstractions of traditional Japanese architecture, in which overhanging eaves shelter and shade, subtly blurring the boundary between inside and out. Of this latest project, Kuma says: I wanted the new museum to be linked naturally with its surroundings by the shade from the gentle slope of the roof

That’s my advice to those who want to build muscle mass and/or burn off fat.

Moving forward, let’s talk about health first – before engaging in any strenuous physical activity (and you’ll need to if you’re serious about getting into shape), meet up with your doctor for a quick checkup to make sure you can actually do so without risk.

Also, check your personal eating habits and any detrimental vices you may indulge in. Eating a balanced diet with carbohydrates (rice, corn, or bread), protein (meat), and of course, vegetables, is a good foundation for health. Low-fat milk adds needed calcium which helps strengthen your teeth and bones.

Once you’ve taken your food consumption into consideration, think about any vices you may indulge in.

Veeam Reports Second Quarter Results in 2010

0 Comments | Wireless News, Jul 30, 2010

Veeam Software, a provider of data protection, disaster recovery and systems management solutions for VMware virtual datacenter environments, said it experienced exceptional growth in every area of its business during the second quarter of 2010 and exceeded quota metrics worldwide.

In a July 27 release, the company reported that total bookings revenue grew 166 percent in Q2 of 2010 over the same period in 2009, and new license bookings revenue increased 145 percent over that same period. In addition, Veeam added roughly 2,330 new customers during Q2.

Officials noted that other highlights of Veeam’s progress include:

-Customers: More than 750 new customers, on average, were added per month during Q2, bringing the quarterly total to approximately 2,330 new customers and the grand total to more than 12,000 customers worldwide.

-Awards: Veeam Software was selected as a finalist for the Microsoft Partner of the Year Award in the Core Infrastructure Solutions, Systems Management category. Specifically, Veeam was recognized for the Veeam nworks Management Pack (MP) for VMware, which enables unified monitoring and management of a heterogeneous virtual infrastructure, including VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper- V.

-Geographic expansion: During the quarter, Veeam opened new offices in Italy, Canada and the Nordic region. Veeam also added specialist sales personnel focused on working with partners in Latin America.

-New products:

-Veeam debuted the Veeam nworks PRO Pack for VMware at the Microsoft Management Summit 2010 in April. The new PRO Pack provides enterprises using Microsoft System Center Virtual Machine Manager with automated problem resolution for their VMware environments. With out-of-the-box intelligence from Veeam integrated directly into Microsoft System Center Operations Manager and Virtual Machine Manager, enterprises can improve productivity, maintain service levels and minimize training and support costs–all while leveraging and protecting the investment they have made in Microsoft System Center.

-Veeam Reporter 4.0, formerly known as Veeam Reporter Enterprise, was released in May. With one solution, users can discover and document the virtual environment, manage change and perform capacity planning.

-In June, version 5.5 of the Veeam nworks Management Pack (MP) for VMware was released. In addition to several enhancements that are particularly beneficial to enterprises with mission-critical VMware deployments, version 5.5 features the new PRO Pack. The nworks MP and PRO Pack extend VMware management in Microsoft System Center.

-Also In June, Veeam announced and demonstrated Veeam nworks Smart Plug-in (SPI) for VMware 5.5 at HP Software Universe. It provides distributed monitoring and management of the VMware infrastructure fully integrated into HP Operations Manager. The new version also provides enhanced scalability and performance; improved high availability and load balancing; and includes a new deployment toolkit that includes an online calculator for pre-deployment planning, as well as a built-in wizard for ongoing analysis.

“Our relationships with VMware, Microsoft and HP have helped establish Veeam as the technology and innovation leader in our market sector,” explained Ratmir Timashev, Veeam President and CEO. “Worldwide, our run-rate business continues to grow, and large enterprises are increasingly turning to Veeam for the virtualization management and data protection solutions they need

Cleaning – Not A Rocket Science by Joanna Harris
in Home / DIY (submitted 2009-09-03)

A tidy home is a happy home, we all know it. And the cleaning chore is the tedious of all, which is also one of the distasteful truths. All of us believe in keeping our place neat and tidy, things organized and well in place, floors shining and windows stain free, but there is so much time and effort to sacrifice and it gives so little in return.
Here come few tricks and tips which most of us can benefit from.

Kitchen is the heart of home. It is a working place of many home makers and favourite hangout for toddlers. Cleaning of a house always begins from the kitchen which is prone to so many stains and marks.

  • Stained, cloudy drinking glasses can be cleaned by soaking them into warm white vinegar for little more than an hour.
  • To clean a coffee grinder, grind up a cup of rice.
  • On adding 1/4th cup of lemon juice in the dish washer, the dishes can be deodorised.
  • To remove the odour of fish after cooking, keep a bowl of white vinegar.
  • Place a water soaked paper towel on the unplugged grill after cooking, for 5 to 30 minutes

SOCCER In Brief: Boy Dung good

Evening Chronicle (Newcastle, England), Feb 10, 2009

ROBINHO is happy to have the support of Brazil coach Dunga following a turbulent first few months in the Premier League.

On the pitch he has quickly become a talisman in City’s struggling side but he has also attracted headlines for matters off the field.

Last year he was quoted as challenging his team-mates’ attitude, he left a training camp in Tenerife and last month he was questioned and released without charge following accusations of sexual assault.

“We must stop this craze of judging people without seeing the facts,” said Dunga. “He is a great kid.”

During that time, all of her relatives called the house and offered congratulations.

Her Maid of Honor drove her thirty miles from the hairdresser to our house to get dressed. The limo driver was supposed to pick her up at the house and bring her to the church, forty miles away. He never showed up.

Luckily the photographer was at the house taking pictures of her getting dressed. The photographer, his son, the Maid of Honor, and my wife squeezed into his small Japanese car and headed to the church.

Her wedding dress got crushed squeezing into his compact car. Her Maid of Honor talked her into coming to the wedding. My wife cried all the way to the church.

At the end of the reception, we drove home together.

You can accept or reject each change individually since they are all listed as red text balloons on the right margin of the new document, with the deleted items clearly linked to the exact location in the text where the change is made.

What’s important here is the ORDER in which the documents are merged and compared. MS Word will take the SECOND document as a base and will try to pour the FIRST document into the mold of the second one.

For example, let’s say we have two documents:

DOCUMENT A is a list of “10 things to do on Saturday.”

DOCUMENT B is a list of “5 things to do on Monday.”

Now, comparing and merging Doc A with Doc B will yield different results than comparing and merging Doc B with Doc A.

Unless we praise effectively the associated benefits will be lost.

The following two tips will help you deliver praise more effectively and thereby reduce disruption in your classroom?

1) When you give verbal praise to a child ? make them really feel it.
When you praise a child you make them feel your appreciation by telling them exactly WHAT they did and WHY it was good.

True praise comes from genuinely noticing when they put effort into something or have managed to complete something they wouldn?t normally manage. When you give thoughtful attention to a student’s work like this work it demonstrates that you recognize their work or improved behavior. Such deep appreciation builds self-esteem and encourages continued progress.

?Paul, stand back and look at what you?ve done? this is a fantastic portrait! What really impresses me is the way you?ve made that eye come to life by showing the light reflecting here. That really makes it come alive!?

Now, doesn?t that sound better than a wishy-washy statement such as ?Very good Paul??

Similarly, when a troublesome child is behaving appropriately, this must be acknowledged.

?John I?m so impressed.
